About SavetheKitties, Inc,

"Hoover" rescued from a gas shelter found his forever home thru STK, 2005!

SavetheKitties (STK), Inc initially organized out of the Hurricane "Katrina" animal disaster in October 2005 and rallied rescue efforts into a rural high kill gas shelter in GA with a mission to decrease the massive numbers of healthy kitties needlessly & inhumanely gassed daily; Promote spay/neuter; and To assist with shelter reform; ultimately, contributing to the universal goal of eliminating the "kill" concept in our animal shelters and providing "SOCIETY'S" unfortunates with a chance, as all life deserves. SavetheKitties, Inc was a pioneer in this effort paving new paths and connections that have expanded and remain today.

As of 2006, STK still holds strong to the value of rescue, However, STK is currently devoting efforts to animal activism and advocacy thru Savethekitties.org website and MySpace which will hopefully broaden public awareness and assist in changing negative perspectives and policies that may help bring about real solutions in states that still consider massive and, in some cases, inhumane euthanasia as a means to end animal over-breeding and over-population.

In Essence, STK currently remains proactive for rescues providing an open forum for networking and a website of related resources with a moving mission towards  activism. As a cohesive group, we can find better solutions and outcomes for the voiceless and deserving animals waiting for change in the dark, forgotten shadows of society. Are you willing to Walk the Long Walk?

By ethical conduct toward all creatures, we enter into a spiritual relationship with the universe."
